New SUNY scholarship honors civil rights champion
Gov. Kathy Hochul has announced a new scholarship to honor the legacy of a civil rights champion. The Dr. Hazel Dukes Fellowship has been established for SUNY students.
Gov. Kathy Hochul has announced a new scholarship to honor the legacy of a civil rights champion.
The Dr. Hazel Dukes Fellowship has been established for SUNY students. The Black Leadership Institute begins in March and will honor one exceptional student every year who embodies the values, accomplishments, and passion of Dukes.
The civil rights activist currently serves as the president of the NAACP New York State Conference as well as a member of the NAACP National Board of Directors.
