Authorities are once again hitting the streets to crack down on drunk or impaired drivers.

New York state has already started its “Stop DWI” crackdown.

From now until New Year’s Day, law enforcement will be out making sure impaired drivers are off the streets.

Authorities say crashes related to drunk drivers spike during the holidays and nearly 40% of deadly crashes during the holidays period involve a drunk driver.

If you are going to drink, officials urge you find a sober ride home and call 911 if you think you see a drunk driver on the road.
