NY electric grid ready for winter
New York’s electric grid is prepared to meet the winter demand.
That’s the word from the State Independent System Operator in charge of operating the bulk of New York’s power grid.
Adequate supplies are in place to meet electricity demand under the forecasted winter conditions, they told NewsChannel 13.
These findings come from a yearly assessment that found 29,514 megawatts of power resources are available to meet a forecasted peak demand of 23,800 megawatts.
