Pair face gun charges after Albany traffic stop

Two men are facing weapons charges after a traffic stop in Albany. Officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Eagle Stret and Morton Avenue just before 6 p.m. on Thursday. Maleek S. McMurray, of Troy, allegedly had a loaded 9mm firearm that was equipped with a high-capacity magazine with 12 rounds of ammunition, according to the Albany County Sheriff's Office.

Officers stopped a vehicle around Eagle Street and Morton Avenue just before 6 p.m. on Thursday. Maleek S. McMurray, 24, of Troy, allegedly had a loaded 9mm firearm that had a high-capacity magazine with 12 rounds of ammo, according to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.

Patris J. Derville Jr., 26, of Albany, had a loaded .45-caliber handgun that was reported stolen from Rutland County, Vermont, investigators said.

McMurray and Derville allegedly had the handguns concealed in their waistbands.

Both were charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. Derville was charged with criminal possession of stolen property.
