Police: Bennington County man resold snowmobile he hadn’t paid off

A Bennington County man is accused of forging documents to resell a snowmobile that he had not fully paid off.

Vermont State Police said James D. Sears, 49, of Arlington, bought a snowmobile and still owed $1,800. Sears then allegedly resold the vehicle to another party using forged paperwork.

Sears was charged with false pretenses. He was issued a citation and due in Vermont Superior Court-Bennington Criminal Division on June 9.
