Police: Columbia County man accessed company’s computers without permission

A Columbia County man is accused of accessing a company’s computers without permission.
State Police received a complaint from an East Greenbush business on March 26 around 11 a.m. about a burglary. The investigation determined that Matthew D. Sowycz, 32, of Niverville, twice entered the business without permission using another employee’s identification, police said. Sowycz then allegedly accessed the computers.
Sowycz was charged with two counts each of burglary, identity theft and computer trespass. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in East Greenbush Town Court on April 10.
