Police: Man drove while on drugs in Coxsackie

A Sullivan County man is accused of driving while on drugs in Coxsackie.

State Police stopped Brian K. Shear, 45, of Roscoe, on Mansion Street on March 22 just before 11 p.m. for traffic violations. Troopers noted signs of impairment.

Police said they searched Shear and the vehicle and found illegal drugs including stimulants and cannabis. 

Shear was charged with three felony counts and one misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of cannabis (more than 16 ounces) and operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs and traffic violations.

He was arraigned in Coxsackie Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 14.
