Police: Man posed as cop to enter Albany woman’s apartment and rape her
Albany Police are looking for a man they say posed as an officer to get into a woman's apartment and then raped her.
It happened around 10:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9 in the 500 block of Mercer Street near South Lake Avenue. Officers learned that the man knocked on the door and announced he was an Albany police officer. The woman unlocked the door, and the man barged in. He showed a knife and sexually assaulted her, police said.
He left in an unknown direction.

He left in an unknown direction.
The woman had a cut on the right side of her face.
The suspect is a white man, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall who was last seen wearing all-black clothing.
