Police: Man sexually abused child in Saratoga County

A man is accused of sexually abusing a child in Saratoga County.

Christopher R. Southard, 53, of Lake Pleasant, allegedly had sexual contact with a person younger than 13 years old. It happened between December 2023 and February 2024 in the town of Providence, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators received the complaint last month.

Southard was charged with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned in Providence Town Court and sent to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail or bond.
