Police: Northville man crashed boat, left scene

A Fulton County man is accused of leaving the scene of a boat crash that injured a person.

John A. Carstens, 71, of Northville, allegedly crashed into another vessel on Sacandaga Lake on July 5 around 4:40 p.m. State Police said. Carstens then removed his boat from the water and left the scene, according to investigators.

The driver of the other boat was taken to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Carstens was released on an appearance ticket and is due in Hadley Town Court on Aug. 7.
