Police: Pair stole merchandise from Amsterdam Lowes

Two men are accused of stealing more than $1,700 in merchandise from the Lowes in Amsterdam.

State Police stopped a vehicle in the area of Route 30 in Amsterdam on Sept. 20 around noon for a traffic violation. The driver was Zachery J. Higby, 23, of Richfield Springs, and the passenger was Ryan A. Dobson, 36, of Gloversville.

There was a large amount of new merchandise in the vehicle, according to police.

Both men were charged with grand larceny and conspiracy. Higby also has traffic violations. 

Both were issued appearance tickets and turned over to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on unrelated pending charges.
