Police: Pair told juveniles to assault person with disabilities

Two people from Columbia County are accused of accused of encouraging a group of minors to assault a person with developmental disabilities.
Nellie McCaul, 43, of Copake Falls, and Brandy Shook, 36, of Hudson, instructed and watched four juveniles assault an adult with disabilities, according to State Police. The alleged incident took place on July 5, 2024, investigators said.
Both were charged on March 4 with endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
The pair was arraigned in Hudson City Court and due back in Copake Town Court on March 24.
