Police: Rensselaer County man drove while drunk, struck trooper

A Nassau man is accused of drunken driving and striking a trooper.

Anthony R. Markou, 58, crashed into a utility pole on Route 20, State Police said. Markou allegedly was uncooperative and hit the trooper. Markou recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.21%.

He was charged with DWI, obstructing governmental administration, harassment and other vehicle and traffic violations. Markou is due in Nassau Town Court on April 16.
