Police: Rensselaer County man was over 3x too drunk to drive

A Rensselaer County man is accused of driving with a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.

On Jan. 14, around 9:45 p.m., State Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Overlook Drive in Sand Lake. Troopers found the vehicle, which was still parked and running.

The driver was asleep at the wheel, according to police. Cade W. Pytell, 27, of West Sand Lake, and was charged with driving while intoxicated. He recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.26%. The legal limit is 0.08%.

He was issued an appearance ticket and due in Sand Lake Town Court on Feb. 17.
