Police: Rotterdam man drove while on drugs, crashed vehicle 

A Rotterdam man is accused of driving under the influence of drugs and crashing in Schoharie County.  

The crash happened on Saturday, Oct. 5 around 5 p.m. in the area of State Route 10 in Summit. New York State Police said Dustin R. Cole, 30, was driving north, when his vehicle left the road and hit a utility pole.  

Cole was picked up by another vehicle before troopers arrived, according to police. He was found at a home in Jefferson and arrested.  

Troopers found cocaine in his vehicle.  

Cole was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance and vehicle and traffic violations. He is due in court at a later date.
