Price Chopper-Market 32 expands Spanish instruction program
Price Chopper/Market 32 is expanding its teammate empowerment with a new initiative.
Store supervisors are learning Spanish at its distribution center in Rotterdam, as the company’s workforce becomes increasingly diverse.
The effort is an expansion of a pilot program with the Capital Region Language Center that roughly 10 employees took advantage of earlier this year.
“What’s really fun with an engagement like this is in addition to all of the foundational pieces of the language, she can also customize it for the warehouse and for the distribution center,” said Kim Andersen, the founding director of the Capital Region Language Center.
Supervisors will complete 40 hours in this round of instruction.
We’re told about 10% of Price Choppers employee’s at its distribution center speak Spanish as their primary language.
