A Pennsylvania man is accused of traveling across state lines to have sex with a person he thought was a child.
A Pennsylvania man is accused of traveling across state lines to have sex with a person he thought was a child.
David Gruber, 39, allegedly began communicating with a person he believed to be a 9-year-old child in November. He drove to Albany County and planned to pay $300 to sexually abuse the child, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Gruber was arrested after arriving at the predetermined meeting location, according to prosecutors.
Gruber was arraigned in U.S. District Court in Albany on Friday, Dec. 6 and was ordered held pending trial.
If convicted, he faces up to 30 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and a lifetime of supervision.
