This weekend is the annual FIRST Robotics Competition, which means For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.

Fifty-six teams from the Capital Region and beyond came to MVP Arena in Albany to showcase the work they’ve done building their robots for this international competition.

More than 1,000 students are taking part in this year’s event.

This is the third year in a row MVP Arena has hosted this event.

The event continues Sunday.
