Man accused of burglarizing two Albany businesses

A Schenectady man is accused of burglarizing two Albany businesses.

A man from Schenectady is accused of stealing from two Albany businesses.

Julio Jimenez, 48, allegedly entered a closed business on Swan Street in Albany on Jan. 20.

He damaged the cash register, took money out of it and ran away, according to New York State Police.

Then, troopers responded to a reports of a burglary in progress at the Empire State Plaza just before 11 p.m. on Jan. 23. They found Jiminez in an area closed to the public, they said. He forced entry into the area and damaged a cash register, according to investigators. Troopers found the stolen items in his possession, they said.

Jimenez was charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of criminal mischief and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property.

He was arraigned and sent without bail to Albany County Jail.
