Schenectady man faces federal drug, weapons charges

A Schenectady man was indicted Thursday on federal drug and weapons charges.

James Alvin Boone allegedly possessed cocaine with the intent to distribute it and had a pistol, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. He also allegedly conspired to distribute fentanyl and cocaine several times from January 2023 through March 2024.

Federal agents also found more than $27,000 worth of cash and nearly $40,000 in jewelry, which prosecutors said they are looking to seize.

Boone, 29, has been in jail since his initial arrest in March. He faces up to life in prison if convicted, at $10 million fine, and supervised release.
