Scotia Village Hall closed for asbestos removal, renovations through Summer 2026

SCOTIA, N.Y. (WNYT)- The Scotia Village Hall is closed for an extended time while asbestos is removed and the building renovated, the village said.
Village offices including Mayor David Bucciferro’s office, the Scotia Police Department and Village Court have all moved to temporary locations while the work is being done.
“The building will tentatively reopen next summer,” Mayor Bucciferro said. “We hope sooner but with buildings that old the time frame could move forward or back slightly.”
All village phone numbers and mailing addresses will remain the same but offices will be at different locations.
Temporary location of village offices:
- Scotia Police Department & Court Clerk Offices: 299 North Ballston Ave., Scotia located behind the Baptist Retirement Home. There will be separate entrances for police and court clerk.
- Scotia Village Court will be held at the Glenville Town Court, 18 Glenridge Rd., Glenville.
- Village Clerk: 207 Sacandaga Rd., Suite 104, Scotia
- Mayor Bucciferro’s office will be located at the new Scotia Fire Department Firehouse, 138 Mohawk Ave., Scotia
