The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee are sharing some tips to help you transition to spring weather driving.

You are encouraged to change out your snow tires.

New York state law allows the use of snow tires from Oct. 16 through April 30.

You should also check your wiper blades. They can wear out during the snowy, icy months.

Test your car battery. Your battery works harder when its cold out.

The best way to maintain to regain your battery’s charge is to take longer drives, around 30 minutes daily.

Finally, be aware of road hazards like pot holes. There may also be mud and branches in the road caused by spring storms.

You are encouraged to drive carefully and drive around the debris to avoid wrecking your car.
