Senator Tedisco calling for increased punishment for animal abusers
A local state Senator is calling for increased punishments for animal abusers.
This is in response to the burning of a pit-bull inside a crate last month.
Senator Jim Tedisco wants to see new laws that give harsher penalties to animal abusers.
This includes double jail time, requiring psychiatric evaluations, and creating a statewide registry for animal abusers.
Tedisco says those who hurt animals are more likely to hurt people.
He is sponsoring several bills in the State Senate that would increase fines and jail time for animal abusers and prevent them from ever owning an animal again.
