Sheriff: Montgomery County Jail inmate stole drugs

An inmate at Montgomery County Jail is facing more trouble for allegedly stealing controlled substances that did not belong to him.
Bruce O’Shaughnessy Jr., who is from Hagaman, was inside the medical room at the jail to receive his prescribed medication. While he was waiting for the nurse to attend to him, O’Shaughnessy, took and concealed controlled substance pills, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.
Correction officers found the drugs during a search of O’Shaughnessy, and recovered the missing pills, investigators said.
O’Shaughnessy was charged with misdemeanor counts of petit larceny, possession of contraband in a jail and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was issued appearance tickets and is due in Glen Town Court at a later date.
O’Shaughnessy was sent back to Montgomery County Jail, where he is being held on unrelated charges.
