Members of the Siena College men’s and women’s basketball teams volunteered at the Regional Food Bank in Latham on Tuesday.

The teams helped sort through all the donated food.

Valencia Fontenelle-Posson was one of the volunteers.

“Makes me feel great. I love to give back, and I’m from Guilderland, so it’s just great to be able to give back to the community who gave so much to me,” she said.

The teams are partnering with the Regional Food Bank for a donation drive at two upcoming games.

The men’s team will host Sacred Heart at MVP Arena on Thursday at 7 p.m. Then, Saturday at 2 p.m., the Siena women will tip off against Merrimack at the UHY Center on the Loudonville campus.

Anyone who donates five canned goods during these games will get a voucher for $5 off a ticket to a future Siena men’s or women’s regular season game.

The Regional Food Bank will collect items through the first half and halftime, including food, hygiene products and cash donations.
