Spirit Halloween cancels plans for Colonie Center Christmas store

Spirit Halloween won’t be getting into the Christmas spirit in the Capital Region after all.

The company had announced that its Colonie Center store in the old Christmas Tree Shops would transform into one of 10 Spirit Christmas shops after Halloween.

However, the store count has now been adjusted to eight.

“Based on the initial positive reaction to our Spirit Christmas test, we have made the difficult decision to adjust the store count from 10 to 8 locations,” the company said in a statement to NewsChannel 13.

It’s unclear why the success led to the decision to cancel the Colonie Center store.
