New York state awards $1.5 million in funding to support broadband initiatives.
An effort to expand broadband access has gotten a big boost.
Empire State Development has announced $1.5 million in grants for eight projects in seven regions of the state.
The Columbia Economic Development Corporation and Mohawk Valley in Montgomery County. Each got more than $100,000.
This is part of the Connect All initiative. Its goal is to implement innovative broadband and digital equity projects.
