State lawmakers announce $1M to improve Capital Region Public Safety

State lawmakers are awarding $1 million to improve public safety here in the Capital Region.

Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and Assemblymember Phil Steck announced $650,000 will go to Colonie Emergency Medical Services.

The money is included in a Safe Streets For All grant.

Another $350,000 will help police replace its portable radios for school resource officers.
