State Police arrest four on impaired driving charges

State Police have made four recent impaired arrests, including one person who is accused of being over three times the legal limit for intoxication.

Jonathan X. Bessett, 27, of Cohoes was arrested on Nov. 9 after State Police received a report of an erratic vehicle traveling south on Route 146 in Clifton Park. He was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs. In addition, he has a previous conviction for DWI within the last 10 years.

Later that day, just before 2:45 p.m., State Police responded to a one-car crash off the eastbound lane of I-90 in East Greenbush. Michelle L. Marshall, 41, of Voorheesville, allegedly recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.22%. The legal limit is 0.08%.

On Nov. 9, just after 10:15 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on Route 67 in Malta for an alleged traffic violation. The driver was identified as Ryan A. Hendel, 47, of Mechanicville. He recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.26 – over three times the legal limit, police said.  

State Police stopped a vehicle on Nov. 10 around 12:30 a.m. in Schenectady for an alleged traffic violation. Thein Tun Huang, 50, of Albany, was charged with DWI. The charge was upgraded to a felony because he has a previous conviction within the last 10 years.
