U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik is continuing her push to rename a historically significant site in Saratoga County to more accurately reflect its history.
Stefanik is reintroducing legislation for the Saratoga National Historical Park to be renamed as the Saratoga National Battlefield Park.
The park commemorates the Battles of Saratoga, which were pivotal in securing American independence during the Revolutionary War.
The park was originally named Saratoga Battlefield Park. When it became a national park in 1938, the word “battlefield” was dropped from its name.
