A federal funding freeze could have a big impact for the SUNY system, according to its chancellor.

Chancellor John King Jr. said a freeze would be a disaster because students rely on financial aid to attend school.

This comes after King released a progress report. It says SUNY schools have back-to-back enrollment gains for the first time in 15 years.

The system has received funding from Gov. Kathy Hochul to meet its 2025 goals.
