Teen accused of leading police on chase in stolen vehicle

A group of teens is in trouble after a chase.

Police in Hoosick Falls were investigating a disturbance report early Thursday morning, when two teens left in stolen vehicle from Salem, investigators said. Three others, who are 14, 15, and 16, were detained.

Troopers saw a vehicle on River Road that matched the description, and the driver took off. The chase was stopped at the New York and Vermont border over safety concerns.

The vehicle was found in the area of State Route 22 in Hoosick Falls.

The 16-year-old driver was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, criminal tampering, unlawful fleeing a police officer and traffic violations.

The 14-year-old was given an appearance ticket for Rensselaer County Youth Court.
