Tennessee man allegedly traveled to Clifton Park for sex with child

A Tennessee man is accused of traveling to Clifton Park to have sex with a minor.

Donald Jenkins, 37, of Clarksville, allegedly started communicating with a person in September to discuss and plan the sexual abuse of an 11-year-old. Jenkins then rented a car to drive to the Capital Region and meet at a prearranged location, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Jenkins took a sexually transmitted disease test earlier in the day and allegedly brought numerous pairs of child’s underwear as a gift, according to prosecutors.

He was arrested on Nov. 19 after arriving at the location.

Jenkins was ordered held pending a detention hearing scheduled for Nov. 25.
