Three charged in Berkshire County drug ring
Three people were arrested in connection with a Berkshire County drug trafficking operation.
The investigation stemmed from alleged drug sales at a home on 30 Brown Street in Pittsfield. A search of the home on Oct. 1 found many items, including nearly $21,000 in cash, around 146 grams of cocaine worth between $7,300 and $14,600, multiple digital scales, cell phones, an illegal firearm and illegal ammunition, according to the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office.
Arrested in the case are: Kareem Archibald, 25, Bronx; Maurice Simmons, 33, Bronx; and Jah’Rell J. Mayes, 22, Pittsfield.
Police found more drugs, scales and cash in bags belonging to each defendant.
All three were charged with trafficking in heroin and cocaine. Archibald and Simmons are both being held on $100,000 bail. Jah’Rell J. Mayes is being held on $50,000 bail.
