The city of Troy is moving forward on a new design plan for downtown.
The construction is set to begin early next year on the Congress and Ferry Street Project.
It includes adding new lights to the Ferry Street Tunnel, making it safer for cars and bikes. There will also be new waterproofing and noise reduction systems.
Bike lanes and more parking will also be added to Congress and Ferry Street. The project includes a 12-foot travel lane, a 10-foot parking lane, a 3-foot buffer space and an 8-foot biking lane, the city said.
The hope is to make the waterfront more accessible, including for people with disabilities.
Construction is set to start in early 2026.
