Troy to revitalize Frear Park

The Troy City Council has approved a plan to revitalize Frear Park.

The Troy City Council on Monday approved a plan to revitalize Frear Park.

Mayor Carmello announced that the city would spend $5 million on improvements including buying new playground equipment, upgrading the tennis courts and bringing current facilities up to code.

Some of the money will go to the city’s lead pipe replacement program.

The money comes from the American Rescue Plan Act funding. Troy received $42 million and has around $5 million remaining.

The project must be completed by the end of 2026.
