Troy woman allegedly obtained nearly $14,000 in fraudulent welfare benefits

A Troy woman is accused of fraudulently obtaining nearly $14,000 in welfare benefits.
Crystal Michel, 36, was arrested after an investigation determined that she provided false information to Rensselaer County Social Services, according to a news release.
Michel was charged with grand larceny. She was arraigned in Troy Police Court and released.
