Lights in Saratoga Springs to help honor United States’ 250th birthday

The Saratoga County 250th American Revolution Commission is inviting everyone to honor the 250th birthday of the United States by participating in the 'Two Lights for Tomorrow' event. This initiative commemorates Paul Revere's historic ride and the nation's enduring struggle for liberty. Participants are encouraged to shine two lights from their homes or businesses as a symbol of remembrance and unity. Any type of lights can be used, and residents are advised to consult their local town hall or the county office building for information on obtaining two complimentary Saratoga America's Turning Point branded lights. This community event aims to foster involvement and reflection on the values that underpin American independence and to engage citizens in a collective celebration of their heritage.

You can take part in a nationwide celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States of America.

The Saratoga County 250th American Revolution Commission is encouraging everyone to participate in Two Lights for Tomorrow.

It commemorates Paul Revere’s famous ride and America’s fight for liberty and independence, which took place on April 18 and April 19, 1775.

To join in, you just have to shine two lights at your home or business on Friday night.

Any two lights will work, but residents are encouraged to check with their local town hall, or visit the county office building to get two free Saratoga America’s Turning Point branded luminaries.

The Declaration of Independence was officially adopted on July 4, 1776.
