Vermont State Police are investigating after a Bennington County man was found dead in his prison cell on Monday morning.
Vermont State Police are investigating after a Bennington County man was found dead in his prison cell on Monday morning.
Michael Myers, 51, was an inmate at Southern State Correctional Facility, in Springfield, Vermont.
Myers complained about not feeling well over the past several days, police said.
He was found unresponsive in his cell at around 9:30 Monday morning by a staff member who went to check on him. He was pronounced dead about a half-hour later.
Myers’ death does not seem suspicious, police said.
Myers had been in custody since 2016 on several convictions, including aggravated assault with a weapon, three counts of aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence, possession of heroin, unlawful trespass and resisting arrest.
