Vermont trio drug charges after traffic stop; Illegal gun seized

State Police arrested three people from Vermont on drug charges and seized an illegal gun after a traffic stop in Salem.

Police stopped a vehicle on Route 22 just before noon on April 15 for a traffic violation. Troopers saw multiple glass smoking devices in the vehicle containing drug residue, police said.

Jasmine Wendell, 37, of Poultney, Vermont, also allegedly had a stolen gun as well as an illegal double-edged weapon, felony weight narcotics, psychedelic substances and other drug paraphernalia.

Wendell was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and three counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of stolen property. Wendell was taken to Washington County Centralized Arraignment Court and sent to Washington County Jail without bail.

Lori A. Warner, 58, of Fairhaven, and Lane R. Gibbs, of Poultney, are also facing drug charges. They were issued appearance tickets and are due in Salem Town Court at a later date.
