About 30 to 40 volunteers helped clean up Malcolm X Community Park on Sunday.
The volunteers removed debris from the street and planted trees in honor of the UN’s International Zero Waste Day.
The event was a partnership between ASEZ University Student and the Black Theater Troupe of Upstate. The city provided the materials.
“We’re partnering in collaboration to make our future more sustainable,” said Jasmine Rojos, a student volunteer.
