Volunteers helped some frogs and salamanders cross the road on Sunday night.
Volunteers helped some frogs and salamanders cross the road on Sunday night.
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation told NewsChannel 13 in the Altamont/Voorheesville area. DEC said it was the perfect time for this because it is only done when it’s raining, and it has to be a certain temperature.
This is the seventh year of the project.
The volunteers helped protect the amphibians from getting run over by passing cars.
The frogs and salamanders were migrating from the forest to breeding pools.
