Warren County Sheriff’s Office joins program to help drivers who have autism

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is taking a step to help drivers with autism or other communication challenges during possibly nerve-wracking traffic stops.

They are adopting the Blue Envelope Program. The initiative provides a distinctive blue envelope for participating drivers.

The envelope holds essential documents, such as their driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance card.

It also has tips for effective communication and instructions for both the driver and the deputy.

If you would like to receive a blue envelope, just call your local sheriff’s office.
