Woman gets probation for selling illegally purchased car

A Chenango County woman was sentenced to probation for selling a car that was illegally purchased.

Joellyn Bedford, 51, of Norwich, N.Y., was arrested in November 2023 after the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said she used a forged check to buy a Ford Bronco worth more than $58,000. She then sold that car to a dealership in Otsego County.

Bedford pleaded guilty in February to third-degree grand larceny.
