Tim Drawbridge

Tim Drawbridge has been an on-air meteorologist for over 30 years and made his return to WNYT in March 2025.  Tim previously worked for WNYT from January 2007 to July 2013.

Tim’s career started in December 1993 in Burlington (VT).  From there, he worked at TV stations in Lexington (KY), Lansing (MI) and Fort Myers (FL) before finally returning to Upstate New York in September 2003.

Even though Tim stepped away from local TV in October 2022 to have more availability for his daughter, he kept his toes “in the game” by helping a few stations in the Northeast and Kentucky with fill-in work via his home remote studio.

Early on in his career (May 1995), Tim was bestowed the honor of being named a “Kentucky Colonel” for his severe weather coverage while working in Lexington (KY).  That is where he earned his National Weather Association (NWA) TV Seal of Approval.  It was during his time in Lansing (MI) that Tim earned and has since maintained his American Meteorological Society (AMS) TV Seal of Approval.

Over the years, Tim has visited many schools, worked with many non-profits and supported numerous charity events.  In November 2018, local Rotary District 7190 acknowledged Tim’s community service work by honoring him with their “Paul Harris Award.”

Tim continues to “moonlight” as a play-by-play broadcaster, which he happened to fall into in November 2018.  Thus, you’ve probably seen Tim out and about calling football, flag football, volleyball and basketball for various Boys & Girls Sectional and State high school games.  He’s also one of the voices for the Glens Falls Greenjackets Semi-Pro Football games.

So, from weather to sports, Tim is lucky and blessed to continue to work with many talented people and has experienced MANY memorable moments.  In fact, one of those “out of the blue” memorable moments was the ‘name drop’ by Cynthia Frelund on the NFL Network in December 2024 (he still has no idea how Cynthia remembers him).

But, as those close to Tim know, the one thing that is over and above every professional accolade or accomplishment achieved, Tim absolutely relishes being a dad to his daughter.
