Waneik Martinez

Waneik joined NewsChannel 13 in June 2023.

She graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Meteorology and a minor in Mathematics. While pursuing her degree at FSU, Waneik was a member of the American Meteorological Society’s local chapter and served as a producer and forecaster for FSU Weather, a nightly live cable television weather show. She also worked as an on-air weather forecaster at WTXL in Tallahassee, FL. 

Prior to completing her meteorology education, Waneik received a degree in Multimedia Communication from Georgia Southern University. During her time there, she was an active member of the community, served in multiple on-campus leadership roles, and became a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. 

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, trying new restaurants, and exploring new places. Waneik also loves cheering on her favorite sports teams, reading, and staying active.
