$1.6 Million proposed in Health Department budget

Saratoga County is hoping a grant will be included in the state budget to help boost the county’s health department.

Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner announced Friday she is fighting for a $1.6 million grant in the final state budget.
Woerner says Saratoga County is the only county outside of New York state this is growing.
She says the grant would support the health department’s transition to a full-service public health department.

The grant funding would help the health department take on more duties including restaurant and lead inspections.

It was included in the executive budget proposal and the assembly house budget proposal.
