Schenectady Police are investigating a deadly shooting on Northend Drive.

Police said they were dispatched at 7:19 p.m. Thursday after a report of an altercation.

Once officers arrived on scene, they attempted to make contact.

Police said they then heard gunshots coming from the home.

Officers then found an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound to her torso exiting the home. That female was taken to a local hospital for her injuries. Her condition is currently unknown.

Police then entered the home and found an adult male with a gunshot wound to his head. That male has been pronounced dead.

Authorities believe the two individuals knew each other and are not releasing the identities at this time.

Schenectady Police said the investigation is ongoing and that there is no danger to the public.

Northend Drive remains closed at this time as police investigate.
