Mother of LGBTQ activist murdered last year shares thoughts on trial
It was a trial that captured the Capital Region’s attention.
LGBTQ activist Ahsid Hemingway-Powell was shot to death in her home in May 2022.
Iaier Robinson was convicted on Nov. 16 of second-degree murder. Prosecutors said that he believed he contracted HIV from her and also was worried that it would come out that he was dating a transgender woman.
NewsChannel 13’s Tiffany Payton sat down with Hemingway-Powell’s mother, who shared information about what we didn’t see at trial and how she felt.
