Two people were taken to the hospital following a stabbing this afternoon in Albany.

Police said that it happened around 4:20 p.m. on the 100 block of Grand Street.

When officers arrived at the scene this afternoon, they found a 37-year-old female with a minor laceration to her hand and a 13-year-old child with an injury to her mouth. Both were taken to Albany Medical Center for further treatment.

Albany Police told NewsChannel 13 that the incident is domestic related.

Albany Police also said they that have arrested 38-year-old Paul Smith of Albany. Smith is being charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Smith will be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court tomorrow morning.
